    I’m sure you’ve noticed less articles written by me lately, and this week as you’ve flipped through the pages of the newspaper, I’m sure you’ve noticed a new writer’s name. Sadly, this is my last week writing articles for the Transcript Bulletin. In December, I accepted a position at a new company, and I officially started working there in the middle of January.

    Mark Runyon, who is the senior pastor at New Life Christian Fellowship, has had a dream from the beginning. Since starting his church, Runyon wanted to open a Christian school. Now, his dream has come to fruition, and Runyon and staff have already talked about plans for the future. New Life Christian Academy is located inside the church at 411 E. Utah Avenue. The school was first started by Johanna Isome in September 2024.

Permanent jewelry is a piece of jewelry that is welded together, instead of clasped together, making it “permanently” attached.

    A well-known Tooele City resident has recently been diagnosed with stage-four cancer. Despite her diagnosis, she has big plans for the future. You may recognize the name “Hollie Baum” from around town. Hollie has spent countless hours volunteering and helping the community with her husband, Ron, at many events, including cancer-related events, and now she needs the community’s help. Hollie and her husband have been married for almost 22 years and have lived in Tooele County since 1993.

    Two new drive-thru locations near the new Smith’s Marketplace, located at the new commercial development at 2400 North and Main Street were approved by the Tooele City Planning Commission on the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 22. Several businesses at the location were also announced during the discussionof the drive-thrus. The conditional use permits requested by LH Perry Investments were presented to the planning commission by Kent Page, Tooele City’s new planner.
