(Cleveland)-Firefighters responded to an active woods fire on Wednesday. White County 911 Communications dispatched the Cleveland Fire Department to the area of Post Road and Cooley Woods Road, south of Cleveland, in response to a report of thick white smoke. White County Fire Services and White County Emergency Management’s UAS1 drone unit also responded to assist in locating the source of the smoke.

2/15/25Sports – White County Lady Warriors took on the Pickens Dragonettes in the Region 6AAA Championship Saturday night in Jasper. In a standing-room-only crowd, The Warriors came out strong and fast with some back-to-back 3s in the first period giving them a 2-point lead into the second quarter. In a game of back and forth, The Dragonettes would make a big move tying the game twice in the second but it would not be enough and The Warriors would take the half, 34-32, Warriors.

2/14/25Sports – White County Lady Warriors Roar’d into the Semi-Finals in a big way last night in Lumpkin County. The first period was a very quick back and forth between the Warriors and Chestatees’ Lady War Eagles, ending with The Warriors up by 3 points. The War Eagles would show how swift they could be in the second period with some fast shooting but the Warriors would remain ahead after an 8-0 run, bringing their lead to 6 by halftime, 24-18.
