Assumptions are dangerous. Many times people find themselves going as far as damaging their own mental health because they can't stop making them. "Look at the nerve of this guy to cut me off in traffic. He must think he's better than everyone!" Sure, he might. But he also may have a wife who is in labor in his passenger seat. Assuming the intentions of others is not too dissimilar to assuming you know how a football season is going to end.

The bye week is typically a week in the season that ushers in a much-needed tea break for not only NFL teams but their fans as well. After all, a 17-game season is a complete mental and physical grind for the players, and without question can be taxing on the mental and emotional health of respective fanbases as well. So once a team gets through 7, 8, or 9 games to kick off their schedule, a little time off is just what the doctor ordered for NFL players and fans alike.

How many times have you, presumably a Chiefs fan like myself, walked away from a win over a divisional opponent on the road feeling worse about the team than you did when the game kicked off? Going back to October 17, 2019 would be a good start. That night the Chiefs beat the Broncos 30-6 in Denver, but lost Patrick Mahomes to a knee injury.
