    MOUNT VERNON - A Knox Community Hospital physician has taken a leave of absence while the State Medical Board of Ohio investigates sexual impropriety allegations. The SMBO notified Dr. Frederick C. Carroll on March 12 that it is investigating whether to limit, revoke, permanently revoke or suspend his license based on a patient's allegations of sexual misconduct. According to Alice Hutzel, director of marketing and development for KCH, the leave of absence is temporary and voluntary.

    MOUNT VERNON - A Knox County commissioner Tuesday said Drenda Keesee must make her own decision about her ability to continue serving on the Board of Commissioners. "The Board of Commissioners has been asked to comment on the pending proceedings against Commissioner [Drenda] Keesee's son," Bill Pursel said in a prepared statement during the board's meeting. "This situation is personal to her, and the board will refrain from making any statements," he said.

    MOUNT VERNON - Danville officials explained plans Tuesday to apply for grant money that would continue to fund replacing water lines on South Market Street. The village will apply for a $470,000 critical infrastructure grant through the Community Development Block Grant program. "The reason we're applying for this is our system was put in in the late 1950s," Village Administrator Joel Stachler explained at a CDBG meeting. "We've had a lot of major breaks throughout the years.
