    CLEVELAND – The Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the Scholar-Athletes of the Year on Thursday morning. Recent Saginaw Valley State University graduate Cheyenne Nesbitt was the recipient on the women's side. Nesbitt finished her remarkable career with 10 NCAA DII National Championships and 17 All-America honors.

    WETZLAR, GERMANY – Saginaw Valley State University alums Cheyenne Nesbitt and Sam Black competed for Team USA versus Germany in the 2024 Thorpe Cup on Friday and Saturday, July 20-21. The women's team fell 17.901-17.839 in a tight contest. The men's team was victorious 39.065-37.472. Nesbitt placed seventh overall in the women's heptathlon with a final score of 5.789, but she did not contribute to the overall team score. Black scored 7.845 points as the third athlete in the Team USA men's win.

    UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. – Saginaw Valley State University graduate Cheyenne Nesbitt was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Scholar Athlete of the Year by the league office today (July 2). Nesbitt is the first student-athlete from SVSU to be awarded the GLIAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year since the award's inception in 2007-08. The award is presented annually to one male and one female among the GLIAC Commissioner's Award honorees throughout the 2023-24 academic year.

    EUGENE, ORE. – Saginaw Valley State University senior Cheyenne Nesbitt finished 11th in the heptathlon at the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on Monday night. Nesbitt totaled 5,934 points to claim 11th in the overall standings after compiling four top-10 finishes in the seven-event competition, including one top-three performance. The 10-time NCAA Division II National Champion got things going in the 100m hurdles after clocking a 13.39 in the race to finish ninth.

Saginaw Valley State University track and field student-athlete Cheyenne Nesbitt was chosen to receive one of the awards granted for the Spring season. Nesbitt adds this award to her long list of awards in her career.
