AUSTIN, TEXAS – Saginaw Valley State University track & field student-athlete Alona Olshevska earned first-team All-America when the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2023-24 Women's Track & Field Academic All-America® teams on Monday evening. Olshevska was a third-team Academic All-American in 2021-22. Olshevska had a great 2023-24, starting with her indoor season.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. – Saginaw Valley State University senior women's track and field athletes Alona Olshevska and Cheyenne Nesbitt were named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Year on Thursday morning. Olshevska broke her SVSU record in the 400m run with a time of 52.78 to finish in second place at the Division II Outdoor National Championships. She earned All-America in the 400m for her finish.

Select members of the Saginaw Valley State University track and field team competed in three different meets this weekend. Both women's relay teams competed in the Hillsdale 13 Last Chance meet on Thursday. The women's 4x100 Relay of Sophia Thelen, Alona Olshevska, Angelina Delbosque, and Cheyenne Nesbitt set an NCAA Division II provisional mark of 45.22 to win the race.

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field teams wrapped up the 2024 GLIAC Outdoor Championships on Friday afternoon. The women's team had a fantastic finish on the final day of the meet as they grabbed six of the seven conference awards for the meet. The Cardinal coaching staff was awarded the Women's Coaching Staff of the Year. Alona Olshevska was awarded the GLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Meet.

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships take place in Pittsburg, Kansas on March 8-9. Eight student-athletes from Saginaw Valley State University were listed among the 540 qualifiers announced on Tuesday afternoon. Dominic Suliman and Ryan Brenner will represent the men's team in three events, and Alona Olshevska, Alexa Keiser, Trinity Greer, Cassandra Campbell, Sophia Thelen, and Cheyenne Nesbitt will represent the women in six events.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University senior Alona Olshevska and junior Dominic Suliman were named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) track athletes of the week by the league office. Olshevska broke her record in the 400m with her event-winning time of 54.00 seconds. This is the second school record she has broken this season. She currently holds four SVSU women's indoor track records.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University competed in the two-day Big Meet hosted by Grand Valley State University on Friday and Saturday. Alona Olshevska and Alexa Keiser highlighted the women's results as both set new school records with their race results. Olshevska won the 400m in 54.00, breaking her school record. Meanwhile, Keiser broke the record in the mile run with a time of 4:45.80, beating the previous mark set last season by just under five seconds.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field team completed the annual two-day Jet's Pizza Invitational on Saturday evening. Alona Olshevska highlighted the weekend's performances by breaking her own school record in the 200m by .11 seconds with her winning time of 24.14 seconds. Ryan Brenner was the top performer on the men's side as he won the heptathlon with a final tally of 5243.

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University senior Alona Olshevska was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's indoor track athlete of the week by the league office on Tuesday (Dec. 5) morning. Olshevska won the 400-meter run during SVSU's Holiday Open, the opening Indoor Track & Field Meet of the 2023-24 season. Olshevska finished with an NCAA Provisional time of 54.56 seconds to win the event.
