ABSTRACTTo understand whether sperm can penetrate maturing metaphase I (MI) oocytes and evaluate the developmental competency following conventional in vitro fertilization (IVF) in a mouse model. ICR mice were used in this study. The metaphase II (MII)-COCs harvested at 15h after the hCG injection was used for IVF as a control (Group 1). In the treatment group (Group 2), the maturing MI-COCs harvested at 7h after the hCG injection were used for IVF.

AbstractMitotic centrosomes form when centrioles recruit large amounts of pericentriolar material (PCM) around themselves. The PCM comprises hundreds of proteins, yet it can assemble and disassemble within minutes, leading to much debate about its physical nature. Here we show that Drosophila Spd-2 fluxes out from centrioles, recruiting Polo and Aurora A to catalyse the assembly of a solid-like Cnn-scaffold and a more liquid-like TACC-scaffold, respectively.

1. IntroductionOral cancer is a major global health concern, exerting a profound impact on a vast number of individuals. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), oral cancer ranked as the 13th most prevalent cancer worldwide, with approximately 377,713 new cases and 177,757 deaths attributed to oral cancer in 2020 [1,2]. Within the specific context of Taiwan, oral cancer also poses a significant health burden.
