Rising junior Lexi Anand poured her soul into her latest work, which was released on June 7. “There’s this sort of awareness in the song that saying ‘I love you’ can’t preserve a relationship that’s already left,” said Anand.

    Vanderbilt’s own Amelia Day brought her pop-funk music and stellar stage presence to Exit/In on April 17 for a concert that seemed to delight the full crowd of fans and friends. Day has been on quite a roll these past few months. In Nov. 2023, she released her EP “Little One,” and she recently played some of her songs for The Hustler’s Tiny Dorm Concert. Now, before a sister show in Asheville, NC in May, she performed at Exit/In here in Nashville.

    Vanderbilt’s Steel ‘Dores performed at Ingram Hall for their spring semester show on April 14. From radio hits, movie music and Calypso classics, the performance was full of good music and groovy vibes. Steel ‘Dores is made up of three bands — white, black and gold — and correspond with different levels and classes in Blair.

    From starting the sport as a tween to preparing for the 2024 World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships, first-year Angelica Harris is taking the world of race walking by storm — and introducing the sport to her peers here at Vanderbilt. Harris started race walking at age 12, though she was hesitant when it was first suggested to her because of the obscurity and potential embarrassment of such a niche sport. “My cross country coach told me I should try it,” Harris said. “I had to look it up.
