Time at home, travel and the Zeppos Tower sum up the winter season for our Photography Section staffers. Mar 5, 2025 From the break between semesters to a January snow day back on campus and everything in between, saying hello to spring is as bittersweet as the goodbye to winter. This winter break, I traveled to Japan with my family. I spent several days in Kyoto visiting temples and shrines. Luckily, it was not peak tourism season. The city was beautiful and quiet, waiting for its first snow.

Indie rock musician MJ Lenderman and his touring band, The Wind, kicked off their 2025 tour at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl, performing a setlist that featured Lenderman’s hit songs and his entire recent album, “Manning Fireworks.” Throughout the night, Lenderman and The Wind put on an incredible show while receiving lots of support from their fans.

Once a month, McGill Hall organizes a coffeehouse that brings together a group of students who perform various songs and tell stories. For the October coffeehouse, titled “The Annual Transylvanian Convention,” students sang along to a number of classic hit songs and listened intently to poems and Halloween-themed stories. Performers on stage throughout the evening included members of the project who live in McGill Hall and some members who don’t, the latter of whom are known as satellite members.

The band played classic indie rock hits and new album tracks at their first performance in Nashville since 2019. 3 minutes ago Vampire Weekend, an indie rock band from New York City, returned to Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater after five years to perform hits and songs from its newest album, “Only God Was Above Us.” Throughout the night, lead vocalist Ezra Koenig, guitarist Chris Baio, drummer Chris Tomson and members of their touring band delivered a remarkable performance for their fans.
