A 43-year-old man has been charged with carrying out a sexual offence in the Bridge of Don area of Aberdeen. The incident happened at around 3.05pm on Sunday April 13, at a wooded area near Jesmond Drive. The man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in connection with the offence. A police spokeswoman said: “At 3.05pm on Sunday April 13 we received a report of a male carrying out a sexual offence in a wooded area near Jesmond Drive, Bridge of Don.

Brian Watt’s advice comes as figures show that the north-east and Highlands and islands have one of the highest rates of Huntington’s disease in the world. The number of people who have the gene that causes Huntington’s across the region has been accurately counted for the first time in 35 years after new research from Aberdeen University.

A supermarket in Stonehaven was forced to open hours later than scheduled today due to flooding in the store. The Co-op on David Street,was closed to customers until about midday, five hours after its usual opening time of 7am. An employee of the town centre store confirmed the store was shut due to flooding issues, although there was “no danger of catastrophe”.

A famous (or infamous) Aberdeen night out institution for students has announced it is to stop running after 10 years. Carwash Tuesdays has been a regular at Underground Klub on the city’s Bridge Street since it started in 2015, but bosses say it is now “time to pack up and say farewell”.
