    It's not a new problem in North Bay, but one resident is growing increasingly tired of trash being dumped in secluded areas of the North Bay. Rob Beaulieu lives on Cedar Heights just north of Canadore College/Nipissing University campus. He says he is tired of seeing junk dropped off at his local street and other quiet areas on the north end of North Bay. Most recently, Beaulieu says a bed frame and a carpet were thrown into the ditch near his home.

    The North Bay U14 Bulldogs pulled out their first win of the season in a close 20-18 victory over the York Lions on Saturday in Aurora. Max Desbiens and Alex Michauville led the Bulldogs' defence with 70-yard and 90-yard interception returns, respectively, for touchdowns. Bulldogs slotback Grayson Lueder led the offence with one touchdown and 50 yards receiving on a windy day in Aurora. The win improves the Bulldogs record to 1-2.

    The Chippewa Ravens senior boys soccer team defeated Superior Heights from Sault Ste. Marie 1-0 to capture the NOSSA senior boys soccer title in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday afternoon. Hudson Prisco-Duquette scored the lone goal for the Ravens, and keeper Sey Agboola kept the clean sheet not allowing a goal against in the final, semifinal and the preliminary contests. Kieran Smith and Cam Popp scored for the Ravens in the semifinal in a 2-0 win over LoEllen from Sudbury.

    It was another record-breaking NOSSA Track and Field Championship for Raine Bradley. The grade 11 Chippewa Secondary athlete broke the NOSSA Junior Boys discus record held by Algonquin's Ryan Hunter by five metres en route to his gold medal at the event that took place in Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday and Thursday.
