(Alexandria, Louisiana) - Some sad news out of Rapides Parish, a 6-year-old kid has died after being hit in a crash. WNTZ reports that the child died after the ATV on which it was riding failed to stop at a stop sign, and a vehicle hit it. The crash occurred Wednesday evening at Culpepper Road and North Boulevard. Three other juveniles were hospitalized after the crash; a 4-year-old suffered minor injuries, while the 10 and 12-year-olds remain in critical condition.

(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - The LSU Tigers baseball team is going for the National Championship this weekend in Omaha, Nebraska, and they may have more than one obstacle on the field this weekend. Temperatures are predicted to exceed 100 degrees, which should allow for many house runs, but there's a problem.

I just got back from a week on the beach, and now I feel like I am a "beach expert" or could be a beach cop. All joking aside, I made several observations while on the soft sand of Florida, and one observation that seems to stick out amongst all is what some people do when it comes to setting up "camp". Many who want the perfect view or spot on the beach often wake up at dawn to claim their spot, while others walk up at any time of day and set up camp for the day.

(Lafayette, Louisiana) If you drive through your city or neighborhood in south Louisiana, you will likely notice that many of the lawns have mushrooms growing in them. So, why are there so many showing up in yards in recent weeks? It turns out that it has a lot to do with the recent weather conditions. The mushrooms are a type of fungi that seem to sprout out of nowhere, and many of us see them as an "eyesore" in our yard, even though kids love to pick or destroy them.
