Deputies are searching for three men Friday after they said they robbed a woman they followed home after shopping at a Walmart in Johnston County. According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery happened around 8:06 p.m. on Friday, November 8 at a home in the Four Oaks area. Deputies said a 66-year-old woman was struggling to load her groceries into her car at a Walmart on North Brightleaf Boulevard when a man helped her place them in her car.

Kiki is a boxer who was rescued from a home after she was seen emaciated in Harnett County. The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible animal cruelty case Thursday after a photo of an emaciated dog went viral. A rescue group first learned about the dog after photos of the dog were posted on Facebook and showed the dog severely emaciated. Michelle Harris, president of the Pet Angel Fund, said she gets emotional whenever she talks about it.

A man is dead Sunday following a shooting in Johnston County. According to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened at a Shop-N-Go on North Carolina Highway 39 at Earpsboro Road. According to Jordi Valdez, who told WRAL News he shot the man, he was trying to scare off the man with a warning shot. Alvarez said he never intended to hit the man. "I was just trying to protect the store," Valdez said.

The Selma Police Department on Thursday said it fired an officer following a traffic stop that went viral. In the video, Officer Joseph Atkinson stopped Matthews Sanders for expired tags on Sept. 18 at Randleman Road near U.S. Highway 70“They followed me into a gas station,” Sanders told WRAL News.

A woman is grieving the loss of her brother, who was shot to death in Cumberland County last week. 21-year-old Arthur Knight Acosta, along with 32-year-old Jefferson Duggins, was shot in Hope MIlls while working as a window washer in front of a home. Guinevere Myskey, Arthur's sister, described him as a hardworking individual who managed multiple full-time and part-time jobs, including a seasonal position.
