A judge denied bond on Wednesday for two siblings accused of kidnapping of a mother and her 1-year-old girl from their Wake County home. Siblings Paola Duran Duran and Miguel Angel Duran Duran are not from the U.S., court documents showed. The siblings and another man are accused of kidnapping 1-year-old girl, Grecia Salome Alejandro-Benitez, and her mother Alondra Michelle Benitez De Jesus from their Garner home on Buck Branch Drive.

The city of Raleigh released their first quarter crime numbers. In a release Tuesday, the department stressed the importance of informing the public on criminal trends. In the first quarter of 2024, there were 9 homicides in Raleigh. In the first quarter of 2025, that number has increased to 11. However, arrests have been made in 9 of the 11 cases, and the tenth case was considered self-defense. Then there are motor vehicle thefts. In the first quarter of 2024, there were 592 reported.
