    NEW YORK (WETM) – Horseheads native Lucas Lawas earned a special honor from the Big East Conference. Lawas, a junior goalie for Marquette University, was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll for his play in the field for the Golden Eagles. He along with teammate Will Foster in the midfield were tabbed the weekly nod by the Big East. Both Foster and Lawas came up big in a comeback win over Air Force Saturday, 9-8. Foster scored two goals and had three assists in the victory.

    PHILADELPHIA (WETM) – Troy’s Sheldon Seymour upset the top seed at his weight at the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships. In a thrilling match, Seymour beat Penn State’s Luke Lilledal in overtime by riding time criteria Friday in the NCAA Quarterfinals in Philadelphia to clinch All-American status. Seymour, the eighth seed, earned more riding time in the extra session after sudden victory where both wrestlers have the opportunity to try and score from the bottom position.
