The program will celebrate its 50th season in a special Alumni Weekend starting Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27 with a packed schedule of events. All Corning Community College baseball alums are welcome to attend the events including a free dinner Saturday night on campus. The festivities kick off Friday the 25th will Dave Clark’s D3 Day Camp at 5 PM.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WETM) – Tuesday was a historic day of baseball and softball for local teams. Horseheads baseball highlighted a special day on the diamond for Twin Tiers area teams, tossing a perfect game against Binghamton. Mason Holloway shut down the Patriots in the road matchup, totaling 11 strikeouts. Brendan Clark capped off the flawless day in relief, retiring 2 more batters. The Blue Raider offense took care of the rest of the game, scoring 9 runs in the win.

NEW YORK (WETM) – Horseheads native Lucas Lawas earned a special honor from the Big East Conference. Lawas, a junior goalie for Marquette University, was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll for his play in the field for the Golden Eagles. He along with teammate Will Foster in the midfield were tabbed the weekly nod by the Big East. Both Foster and Lawas came up big in a comeback win over Air Force Saturday, 9-8. Foster scored two goals and had three assists in the victory.

PHILADELPHIA (WETM) – Troy’s Sheldon Seymour upset the top seed at his weight at the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships. In a thrilling match, Seymour beat Penn State’s Luke Lilledal in overtime by riding time criteria Friday in the NCAA Quarterfinals in Philadelphia to clinch All-American status. Seymour, the eighth seed, earned more riding time in the extra session after sudden victory where both wrestlers have the opportunity to try and score from the bottom position.

ITHACA, N.Y. (WETM) – The time is almost here for Cornell and the NCAA Wrestling Championships. The #9 Big Red will send a record 10 wrestlers from their full starting lineup to the 2025 NCAA Wrestling Tournament starting Thursday in Philadelphia. Cornell just won the first-ever IVY League Tournament Championship and is looking for another strong performance on the mats at the nation’s toughest wrestling event.

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WETM) – Elmira College women’s hockey will head back to the NCAA Division III Tournament quarterfinals. Elmira College outlasted #6 Plattsburgh State in the NCAA DIII Tournament opening round, knocking off the Cardinals with a 1st period power play goal from Erika Goleniak.
