EUGENE, ORE. – Saginaw Valley State University freshman Christian Purchase-Ofoeme finished fifth in the decathlon with 6,835 points at the USATF U20 Championships held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. This is the second straight season the Cardinals have had a student-athlete compete in the USATF U20 Championships. Purchase-Ofoeme was fourth after the first day of competition with three top-five finishes through the first five events of the decathlon.

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field teams wrapped up the 2024 GLIAC Outdoor Championships on Friday afternoon. The women's team had a fantastic finish on the final day of the meet as they grabbed six of the seven conference awards for the meet. The Cardinal coaching staff was awarded the Women's Coaching Staff of the Year. Alona Olshevska was awarded the GLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Meet.

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Saginaw Valley State University track and field team claimed two GLIAC Outdoor titles after the second day of the conference championship meet. The women's team currently sits second in the team standings with 30 points while the men are fourth with 35. Cheyenne Nesbitt led the way with a win in the long jump after a mark of 6.12m. Nesbitt also had the top time in the 100 hurdles preliminaries with her time of 13.25 seconds.
