Onlyscience, a software as a service (SaaS) application which focuses on democratising data science in marketing, was co-founded by Matias Carpio and Ernest Amoako in 2024. The business has been nominated for the Innovative StartUp of the Year Award in South East England.

WINCHESTER Gardening Club is gearing up to hold its annual plant sale. The sale will take place on Saturday, May 10, from 10am to 2pm, in the courtyard between Sainsbury’s Supermarket and the Badger Farm Surgery. There will be many flower and vegetable plants on offer, most of them grown by members. There will also be a cake stall as an additional temptation.

13 1/1 A HISTORIC waterworks has opened its doors to the public to celebrate its 125th anniversary. Twyford Waterworks, which first opened in 1900, welcomed visitors on Sunday, May 4, and Monday, May 5. Visitors had the opportunity to see the machinery in action up close, and see the Hathorn Davey steam pumping engine, large Ruston diesel pumping engines, the 1895 Crossley gas engine and other smaller pumps in operation.

31 1/1 HUNDREDS have taken part in this year's Winchester Triathlon. Taking place on Monday, May 5, the triathlon required participants to run, swim and cycle in hopes of setting the fastest time. As in previous years, NFU Mutual Winchester, Alton and Wickham teamed up with Rees Leisure and TryTri Events to support the event at Kings' School in Romsey Road. Founded in 2008, the Winchester Triathlon offers sprint, novice and children’s distances.

19 1/1 THE Friends of King Alfred Buses annual running day has returned to Winchester. Taking place on Monday, May 5, the event sees the group showcase its collection of vintage buses, with some even available for members of the public to ride on. These rides take place across a network made up of the old routes which operated in and around the city in the 1950s and 1960s.
