5 1/1 Plans to build up to 1,100 homes near Romsey have been put on pause after a large part of the site were reclassified as a flood risk. New maps released by the Environment Agency classify almost a third of the land set aside for the Whitenap development, north of Luzborough Lane, as being in either Flood Zone 2 (having between a one in 1000 and a one in 100 annual probability of flooding) or Flood Zone 3 (a 1 in 100 or greater annual probability of flooding).

The incident happened on the A3 near Bramshott (Image: Google) THE family of a man who died following a crash on the A3 have paid tribute to him. Police were called on Saturday, April 5, to a collision involving a Kia Ceed and a pedestrian, which took place at around 2.45pm on the southbound carriageway, near to Bramshott. The pedestrian, 36-year-old Jerrick Gomez from Portsmouth, was taken to hospital but died on Wednesday, April 9.

The meeting will start at 7.30pm. After the formal business, there will be a panel discussion and Q&A session about the proposed Micheldever New Town development which has been submitted to the government’s New Towns Task Force.
