Peter Johnson, 39, of Murray Close, Thornhill, Southampton, drove a Ford Focus on the A34 near Sutton Scotney on October 28 while under the influence of ketamine, a court heard. Johnson underwent a blood test, returning a result of 80 microgrammes of ketamine per litre of blood, exceeding the legal limit. READ MORE: Why do local newspapers report on court cases?

A police breath test (Image: Archive) A WINCHESTER man has been banned from the road for drink driving. Oluwasegun Arowolo, 25, of Lower Brook Street, drove a car in Winchester High Street while under the influence of alcohol on Saturday, May 3, a court heard. Magistrates in Basingstoke heard that Arowolo underwent a breath test, returning a result of 46 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the limit of 35 micrograms.

5 1/1 ROMSEY Abbey has welcomed four new peregrine falcon chicks. The chicks, three males and one female, are approximately 20 weeks old and are likely to fledge in about three weeks. Their parents will stay with them for approximately four to six weeks and teach them to hunt before moving away. The chicks have been ringed, weighed, measured and swabbed by Michael Jones.

Sophy May Herridge, 46, of Furzedown Road, King's Somborne, died at Furzedown Farm on May 21, a court heard. The inquest was opened at Winchester Coroners' Court by area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp on Thursday, May 29. READ MORE: What happens at an inquest and what can the press report? Mrs Rhodes-Kemp said that Ms Herridge was found with injuries underneath a tractor-trailer on the farm. Paramedics were called, but there were no life-saving opportunities.

THERE will be a Give and Take event in St George’s Square, Bishop’s Waltham on Saturday, May 31, from 10.30am to 2.30pm. This is a free event where attendees can give or take items with the aim of reducing waste. Items of interest include DIY and gardening tools, equipment and materials. Donations will be accepted until 12noon. A DATE for nature lovers diaries; the next Green Bishop’s Waltham Showcase will be held at Jubilee Hall, Bishop’s Waltham, on Saturday, October 11, from 10am to 2.30pm.
