    Locks Heath resident of five years, Tanya Richards, 47, said her black rescue cat, Cooper, was acting strangely and hiding around the house on Sunday night, June 1. Due to Cooper’s hiding, it wasn’t until the following morning Tanya noticed a ‘horrific and gory’ injury to Cooper’s eye and rushed him to the vets. She said: “Panic set in straight away and we thought he had been hit by a car”, but it soon became clear that Coopers injury had been deliberately caused by someone.

    Gosport Lifeboat (Image: NQ) Lifeboat crews from Gosport have been called into action and towed a 33 ft boat to safety after it became stranded. June has marked the start of an already busy summer for the Gosport And Fareham Inshore Rescue Service with crews being called out three times in just a single day. Sunday saw the team kick into action at around 15:30 when a call was received to say a 33-foot ketch was stranded and needed to be towed to safety.
