MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A fight between a group of girls at a Memphis Shelby County School took an even more violent turn when an adult jumped in. Police said a man brought a weapon onto school grounds at Fairley High School. "We got to keep our school safe at all costs," said Memphis Lift founder Sarah Carpenter. "Weapons should be nowhere on school grounds, period."It happened just after school was dismissed at Fairley High School in Whitehaven Tuesday afternoon.

The deadly shooting happened on North Watkins Street just before midnight at a sports bar in Frayser, and residents in the area are fed up with the violence. FOX13 spoke with several people in the community who said they're afraid to leave their homes and that more needs to be done to stop the violence.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis woman ambushed and shot in broad daylight in Frayser last week. The suspect arrested was only 16-years-old. La'Myah Mason explained that she never expected something like this to happen after living in the city for over a decade. “I haven't done anything to you. I just tried help you and you trying to kill me,” she said. Mason works as a security guard at the Ridgecrest Apartments in Frayser.
