MEMPHIS, Tenn. - After three former Memphis Police (MPD) officers were acquitted Wednesday of all charges in their state trial over Tyre Nichols' death, Nichols' sister was seen leaving the courtroom in tears. Meanwhile, his mother, RowVaughn Wells, remained stoic. On Thursday, Nichols' family is expected to attend a community rather in the courtyard of the National Civil Rights Museum (NCRM) in Downtown Memphis.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In just a couple days, the Real ID Act goes into effect. Congress passed the law in 2005. It requires a star on a person's driver's license in order to fly or enter certain federal buildings or military bases. For two decades, the timeline kept getting pushed back — until now. This has left some Shelby County drivers scrambling to get their Real ID. “It’s crazy. It’s crazy. But, you know, we got to get it," Ron Dean told FOX13 last week while he was waiting in line at the DMV.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The deadline to get your REAL ID is one week away. You'll need to have this ID if you want to board a plane starting May 7 unless you have a passport. RELATED: Do you need a Real ID? It dependsYou can get your REAL ID at any point. The May 7th deadline is for people who have to fly or go into any government building. If you're not able to meet that deadline, you can use your passport. A REAL ID will feature a star on it.
