    A boy, aged 16, died after a horror crash in Sheffield yesterday afternoon. The teenager was walking along Staniforth Road, Darnall, at around 4.50pm when he was invlved in a collision with an electric bike and a grey Audi. The Audi failed to stop - triggering a manhunt. Emergency services raced to the scene and found a pedestrian critically injured and the 18-year-old rider of the E-bike seriously hurt.

    An inquest is to begin today into the death of a Sheffield foster carer who died after being hit by a car driven by a 12-year-old boy she was caring for. Marcia Grant, aged 60, died in April 2023 when she was struck by her own car on the driveway of her home. A 12-year-old boy she was caring for was behind the wheel. Marcia was attempting to prevent the boy from driving off in the car.

    A police probe into the death of a man in Rotherham at the weekend is continuing this morning. South Yorkshire Police said at 6.47am yesterday (Sunday, June 1) reports were received that a man had been found unresponsive on Waddington Way. Despite the best efforts of medics, the man, aged 54, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

    Police officers searching for an elderly missing man last seen near to a Sheffield hospital are appealing for help to find him. David, aged 82 and from Sheffield, was last seen at 10am on Thursday, May 29 near to the Northern General Hospital. He is white, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and of average build. David is believed to be wearing black trousers, a blue coat and a beige baseball cap. Officers have released a CCTV image David.
