Essex Police, the fire service and the ambulance service are attending an incident on Wivenhoe Road after a digger was in a collision with a bus. The road is partially blocked and drivers are advised to "approach with care", says AA Live Traffic Map. Officers have closed a section of Wivenhoe Road to deal with the incident and remain on the scene. A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We remain on the scene of a serious collision between a bus and a digger near Alresford.

At 6am Wednesday morning, a pipe burst in Heybridge under The Street which caused water to run across the road and pavement.
