By the afternoon partly sunny to mostly cloudy with highs in the mid 80s. Late this evening showers and storms arrive with heavy rainfall. Weekend forecast becomes cloudy with periods of heavy rain as we track waves of energy lifting into the region as the cut off low will plague the southeast for several days.

In short, it’s the full moon that appears for the month of May and is meant to signify the flowers that bloom throughout the month. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Native Americans call the moon, Budding Moon and Leaf Budding Moon to celebrate the awakening of local flora, which really begins to leaf out now in many areas.
