ACTION in the Limerick Women's and Schoolgirls Soccer League continues this week after a dramatic opening week of fixtures. DIVISION 2: On Tuesday night last, Lough Derg welcomed Murroe to Clarisford Park for the opening game of Division 2. It was a fiercely competitive clash, with both teams eager to start the season on a high. The deadlock was broken in the 34th minute when Shauna Ryan found the net for Murroe. The visitors held onto their 1-0 lead going into half-time.

LIMERICK senior hurlers played out an exciting draw with Tipperary in their Munster senior hurling championship opening round fixture at FBD Semple Stadium on Easter Sunday. The sides finished deadlocked 2-23 each at the end of 70 pulsating minutes of hurling which produced 50 scores, including four terrific goals. THE Con and Annie Kirby Memorial Stake final took place at Limerick Greyhound Stadium on Saturday night as the 2025 renewal came to a head and the night belonged to Faypoint Ranger as he completed a clean sweep in the Classic to secure the €80,000 winner’s prize. Owned by Patricia Flanagan from Wexford, Faypoint Ranger is trained by Graham Holland who secured an impressive third win in the prestigious event in just four years.
