BUFFALO, N.Y. — At 72 years old, Richard Park is showing no signs of slowing down. The Forestville native — now living in Colorado Springs — is back in Western New York to run his 126th marathon. By pure coincidence, his race bib number is No. 125, which is the number of marathons he has already completed. That includes one in every state. Richard ran his first marathon at age 49. Now, more than two decades later, he’s still putting in the miles.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — More than 150 elementary school students, parents, and volunteers took to the streets of Buffalo Wednesday morning for a group ride to school. It's part of a local tradition that continues to gain momentum each spring. Students from Olmsted School 64, Tapestry Charter School, and Bennett Park Montessori School gathered at three starting points across the city: Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway, the Buffalo Zoo, and Roosevelt Plaza.

ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — Erie County is taking another approach to tackling food insecurity, especially for families with young children. Thanks to a $1 million state grant, the county’s “Farm to Families” program has been delivering boxes of locally grown food each week to more than 400 families at 23 childcare centers since December 2024.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — A major change in air travel identification rules took effect on May 7 as as the Transportation Security Administration started to enforce the long-anticipated REAL ID requirement. As of May 7, travelers ages 18 and older must present a REAL ID-compliant identification or an alternative acceptable form of ID — such as a passport, enhanced license. or a NEXUS card — in order to pass through TSA security checkpoints.
