BLOOMINGTON, IL (Release via Virginia Wesleyan Athletics) – The Virginia Wesleyan University softball team (47-3-1, 21-1 ODAC) defeated Randolph-Macon 8-0 in Game 1 of the NCAA Championship Tournament. Morgan Tucker led the offense and broke the ODAC single-season RBI record with two bombs for a five RBI day. Olivia Knight was 1-for-1 with a solo homer and teammate Samantha Deitsch was 1-for-2 with a solo home run as well.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Beloved local football coach and mentor Tommy Reamon, Sr. has died at the age of 73, according to an Instagram post from his son. Reamon has coached at multiple schools in Hampton Roads throughout the years, including Ferguson, Warwick, Gloucester, Landstown and Denbigh high schools. Reamon also coached notable football stars, including Michael Vick, the newest head coach at Norfolk State University, and Aaron Brooks, who primarily played with the New Orleans Saints.

Mackenzie Myers led the offense going 2-for-2, with a walk, and recorded two RBI, Laci Campbell was 1-for-3, scored one run, and had two RBI, and the big hitter Olivia Knight was 1-for-3 with a solo home run to deep center field.

PORTSMOUTH (WAVY) – The entire 2025 Washington Commanders schedule was released Wednesday night. Washington will begin its season at home against the New York Giants Sept. 7. Four days later, the Commanders travel to Green Bay to face the Packers on Thursday night football. Of the 17 total games, the Commanders will play five in primetime, including a Week 8 trip to Kansas City to play the Chiefs.
