    Nine members of a street gang have been indicted on charges of drug trafficking, attempted murder, firearms offenses and related charges, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The indictment alleges that the nine people are members of the Eastside Rollin 20s Crips, or RTC, gang, operating throughout the United States including in Washington and Northern Virginia. The names of the nine members were not released. It is unknown if the alleged gang members are in custody.

    An 88-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle on South Main Street in Harrisonburg around 10 a.m. this morning. The Harrisonburg resident was critically injured and transported to University of Virginia by AirCare. A Harrisonburg Police Department supervisor was on patrol in the 1500 block of South Main Street when they came upon the traffic crash involving the pedestrian. The vehicle involved, a four door Toyota Sedan, was being driven by 86-year-old woman from Rockingham County.
