The City of Waynesboro will replace its annual summer fireworks with a drone light show created by more than 100 aerial devices. Glow Waynesboro, or GloW for short, will take place July 12 on the banks of the South River at Constitution Park. The event will include food trucks, live music and will conclude with the light show, presented by Airloom Drone Shows. The Crozet company has put together performances for William and Mary, Boar’s Head Resort and Swannanoa, to name a few.

A child from the Charlottesville area has been confirmed to have the third case of measles this year in Virginia. The patient is 4 years old or younger, according to the Virginia Department of Health, and developed symptoms after exposure to the state’s second case, a teen between the ages of 13-17. The second case was diagnosed on May 23. The first case in Virginia was in April. Both individuals from the most recent cases are from the Northwest region, which includes Charlottesville.
