FERGUS FALLS — Foday Sheriff was checking X Friday morning when he ran across a post from the NJCAA, announcing he had won Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Year. "I was like, 'Oh snap.' I saw DI men's, DII, then I saw DIII and then I saw my picture there. Then my coach called me shortly after and just told me. And I was excited," Sheriff said.

It will be his second college hockey team after spending two seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. FARGO — A pair of brothers from Warroad are one win away from helping Western Michigan hockey reach its first-ever Frozen Four. Grant and Hampton Slukynsky both played big roles in getting the Broncos to this point. A foam hammer might have played a role as well. “Every game, every rink. Even with Team USA or at the (Los Angeles Kings) development camp, I always have a hammer on the boards when he's in the net, when I'm at the rink," explained Jenny Slukynsky, mom of WMU goalie Hampton.
