In a surprise announcement, Governor Josh Shapiro says he is canceling all of his fundraising events that were set to take place this weekend. His office released a full statement saying:“The Governor’s trip was planned several weeks ago and included several fundraisers for his own campaign committee. His schedule has changed and he is no longer traveling to the Hamptons this weekend.”The governor's office did not say if those events would be rescheduled for a later date.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — PennDOT needs to do better in following its own rules to prevent bridge failures, according to auditor general Tim Defoor. Defoor delivered his findings of a performance audit of PennDOT's bridge inspections. It looked at how PennDOT operated over a three-year period, interviewing engineers and investigating bridge inspections,He says that PennDOT did not follow its own procedures when reporting about bridge with high-priority maintenance issues.

COLUMBIA, Pa. (WHP) — After the Tollbooth Antique Warehouse in Columbia was destroyed in a fire, the community is coming together for a benefit auction. Boltz auction company tells CBS 21 that the auction will take place Saturday, August 31st, with the company looking for donations to auction. 52 vendors who once operated in that warehouse lost their products as a result of the fire, with one seller losing $50,000 alone.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — State lawmakers are going home for the 4th of July without a finished budget. The spending plan is now three days overdue, but Democrats and Republicans hope to get it finished soon. Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman spoke today about the progress being made so far. He says the final product will likely be less than the $48 billion proposal from Governor Josh Shapiro. The biggest hurdle is education funding and how it will be distributed.

It's been called a "drowning machine" after several incidents, and now one group is calling for the removal of a low head dam in the Susquehanna river. American Rivers, a group that seeks to restore rivers across the country, is proposing the removal of the Dock Street Dam in Harrisburg. This comes after another close call rescue at the dam just a few weeks ago.
