    NORMAL — A 47-year-old man from Normal has been charged with multiple drug- and weapon-related charges after a traffic stop on Sunday. Christopher S. Rose is charged with possession of methamphetamine between 5 and 15 grams, a Class 2 felony; and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without an Illinois Firearm Owners Identification card, a Class 4 felony.

    BLOOMINGTON — A Bloomington man was denied pretrial release on Thursday while facing criminal sexual assault charges. McLean County Assistant State's Attorney David Rossi said Bloomington detectives spoke with a woman in August who said Cedric C. Grayson, 19, had assaulted her. According to the probable cause statement, Grayson is accused of grabbing the victim by the neck and ponytail during a conversation, then dragging her into a bedroom and assaulting her.

    BLOOMINGTON — A 17-year-old accused of involvement in a shooting in Normal will remain in custody until his trial on attempted murder charges, a McLean County judge ruled Friday. Authorities say Jaylin K. Butler, of Bloomington, is among three suspects in the shooting, which took place Thursday in the 100 block of West Shelbourne Drive. McLean County Assistant State's Attorney David Fitt said an 18-year-old man had been shot in the buttocks with no exit wound and was transported to the hospital.
