RAINS COUNTY, Texas (KETK) — An East Texas judge is accused of threatening a defendant, saying, “I heard you have a problem with me, boy. You take that deal, boy — or dead men can’t testify.” Two days later, the defendant entered a no-contest plea in a felony case. A lawsuit filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas, alleges that Justice of the Peace Jenkins Franklin threatened Coby Wiebe to enter a guilty plea in a criminal case over which he had no jurisdiction.

The Smith County Sheriff’s Office said they received a missing persons call on Sunday at around 11:30 p.m. Deputies responded to an area near Garden Valley Golf Course, where they found the missing person’s vehicle. HENDERSON, Texas (KETK) — The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office has released a statement following an NBC investigation into the death of Timothy Michael Randall, after being pulled over for a traffic violation three years ago. Randall, 29, was pulled over on CR 4125 near SH 64 near Turnertown on September 14, 2022, and fatally shot at the scene of the traffic stop. Years later, his family continues to search for answers in their son’s death.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK) — The Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating a murder that occurred on Monday afternoon. According to police, at around 4 p.m., officials received 911 calls of gunshots in the Eastwood Terrace off Woden Road. Once officers arrived, they were directed by residents to where they believed gunshots had been heard. In a wooded area, officials located a body later identified as Jermiah Jarmma Warren, 19 of Nacogdoches.

According to a release from the Tyler Police Department, at 6 p.m. officers responded to a crash on Troup Highway, just north of Loop 323. A preliminary investigation indicates that Officer Sam Lively, who was riding a motorcycle, was traveling south on Troup Highway in the outside lane.
