Dow High’s Chamber Singers stood on the roof of a cruise boat on the Vltava River and spontaneously sang into the night, as people listened and recorded the impromptu concert from a bridge above. It was a fitting final night for a memorable weeklong tour for 56 Dow High choir and orchestra students, who performed in centuries-old cathedrals and castles in the Czech Republic — joined by local students as well.

Rilynn Hammond, Josie Balliet and other students in the Coleman Agriscience program will see the fruits of their labor at the annual plant sale on Saturday, May 10 - the day before Mother's Day - at the greenhouse near the Agriscience Center. From 9 a.m. to noon that morning, the public can purchase geraniums, herbs and vegetables, with proceeds supporting the Agriscience program, which is part of the Career and Technical Education consortium and draws students from throughout Midland County.

Cosens Martial Arts students are stepping up for their fellow students - and inviting the public to do the same. On May 7-8, the students will break boards to raise donations that will go to families who need financial assistance to enroll their children in class at Cosens.
