OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — The rampant crime in Oakland’s Hegenberger corridor has caused several businesses in the area to close, but one newly-opened restaurant says it has not had issues. Round Table Pizza opened at 8450 Edgewater Drive in June despite the robberies and car break-ins in the area. Corporate officials say there have been no problems so far, but precautions were taken. “It’s been great so far. We’re taking no cash, and right now the dining room is not open.

(KRON) — A Vallejo woman in her 60s was attacked and robbed Thursday afternoon, her family says. The family is now concerned for her safety. The robbery happened just outside the woman’s home on Barkley Court at about 1:45 p.m. Her nephew told KRON4 she had just left the bank and was likely followed. A video (included above) shows her walking outside before a man runs towards her and rips her cross-body purse off of her. She was bruised on her arms and upset over the incident.

(KRON) – A South Bay pizza company suffered break-ins at both of its restaurants. The first happened at A Slice of New York’s Sunnyvale shop back on Aug. 19. The burglar busted in through a window and rummaged through the restaurant but walked away without stealing anything. Then, less than two weeks later, a burglar was seen throwing a rock through the front door of the San Jose shop. They also rummaged through the empty drawers.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – San Francisco’s first and only Black woman-owned cannabis shop is at risk of closing. Right now, the shop’s owner is trying to raise enough money to keep the dispensary open, but it’s a daunting task. Owner Reese Benton has just weeks to come up with the money to buy the space. The building’s current owner said they’re selling it when the lease is up.
