VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A woman charged with first-degree murder in connection to a homicide in Virginia Beach spoke to 10 On Your Side from jail Thursday. According to police, officers were called to the 500 block of Rodney Lane just after 11 a.m. Wednesday for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a man who had been shot. The victim, identified as 90-year-old Woodard McClure, was pronounced dead on the scene.

CAPE CHARLES, Va. (WAVY)– Multiple agencies responded to a single vehicle crash on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel early Wednesday morning. According to officials, around 1:45 a.m., a tractor-trailer carrying frozen chicken was traveling southbound on Two Island at the Thimble Shoal Tunnel of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel when it crashed. As a result of the crash, the tractor-trailer became fully engulfed in fire.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY)– Crews responded to a fire in Portsmouth Thursday night. According to officials, crews were dispatched to the 2900 block of Deep Creek Blvd at 10 p.m. for the report of a commercial structure fire. This is in the Prentis Park section of the city. When crews arrived, they found a single dwelling with a fully involved fire.
