MONTCLAIR, New Jersey (WABC) -- How did you get to school as a young student every morning? For students in Montclair, New Jersey, it's standard to ride a bike as far as 5 miles. They do it in big groups called 'bike buses' to build health habits and they have fun doing it. "On a good weather day, we'll have up to about 400 parents and kids writing to all of our schools across town." Bike Bus organizer Andrew Hawkins said.

Birds are chirping, trees are in bloom, New Yorkers are lying in Central Park, and the eels are migrating. "So every year, thousands of baby migrating American eels, called glass eels, make a 2,000-mile journey all the way to Staten Island to come up into this location and spend their lives," said Robert Brauman, New York City Department of Environmental Protection.

Good morning! Toasty temps & smoky sun today. Highs climb 10º above avg near 90º! Air Quality Alert in play with combo of wildfire smoke + ozone creating air considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. Otherwise, sunny skies & breezy wind! Cooler & wetter into the weekend @abc7ny https://t.co/TBX6kXMNMZ

Happy Wednesday! *This* is more like it... at least once we get past the patchy dense fog this morning. Warmer with less humidity & mostly sunny skies! Smoky haze is possible at times today but shouldn't impact air quality. Even warmer tomorrow before rain chances return @abc7ny https://t.co/t09Vkby0aP

Heavy rain moving through, especially north of NYC! Ponding possible so take it slow on the roads @abc7ny https://t.co/HWr31k7pth
