A former Pulaski County circuit judge announced his candidacy on Wednesday for Pulaski County Judge in 2026. Wendell Griffen, 72, who retired as a judge in 2022, announced his intentions for the office that has been held by Barry Hyde since 2014. Before his retirement, Griffen served for 12 years on the Arkansas Court of Appeals -- where he was one of the first two Black lawyers to hold the post -- and 13 years on the 6th Judicial Circuit of Arkansas.

More than 60 members of the Arkansas National Guard are taking part in an annual multi-national exercise in Guatemala this month, the Guard announced Wednesday. The Guardsmen are participating in CENTAM Guardian 2025, an exercise held since 2018 that is "designed to strengthen interoperability, information sharing, and counter threat capabilities between" the United States and its partners in Central America and the Caribbean, according to a media release.

Just over a month ago, anytime the Saline County Sheriff's Department would make a post on its Facebook page seeking the public's help in identifying or finding the fugitives attached to those warrants, the response was ... tepid, at best.
