    Kurt Busch and Randy LaJoie are part of the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s ballot for the first time as nominees, NASCAR announced April 21. Busch and LaJoie are part of the 10-person Modern Era ballot. Jake Elder, meanwhile, is the lone addition to the five-person Pioneer ballot. Though he wasn’t an option the previous year, Elder is a returning member, having been eligible in 2021. Busch is a former NASCAR Cup Series champion, winning the title in 2004.

    Mason Maggio will attempt the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend for MBM Motorsports, MBM announced April 21. Maggio will run the No. 66 with sponsorship from Denssi Energy Pouches. It’s Maggio’s first appearance with MBM in 2025; he’s running a part-time schedule this year for Joey Gase Motorsports as well. “I am super excited to be back behind the wheel of the No. 66 for Carl Long and MBM Motorsports,” Maggio said in a team release.

Love won the April 19 race at the track but was disqualified by NASCAR post-race for a violation pertaining to the rule that cars’ truck trailing arms and U-bolt saddles need to be in contact with each other. Sammy Smith was given the win after Love’s disqualification.

However, nearly three hours after the checkered flag, Love was disqualified, and Smith was promoted to the winning position. Taylor Gray was relegated to fifth.
