The chain has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and has told its vendors it’s no longer purchasing goods and services amid financial challenges.

As discount retailer Big Lots filed for bankruptcy and closed hundreds of stores, many of its leases were auctioned off. And a number of well known retailers including Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Tractor Supply and Ocean State Job Lot purchased the leases at auction. Discount department store chain Burlington was also one of the retailers that purchased former Big Lot stores. Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, and began closing most of its stores in December.
