    Many communities are cleaning up after floodwater crept inside homes and businesses. Now that the water has receded, people along Kellogg Avenue in the East End started assessing the damage. The Hitching Post is known for its fried chicken, but another tradition runs deep inside the restaurant. Earlier this week, multiple feet of flood water entered the building, and it was not the first time the Ohio River appeared. "It's pretty bad," Owner Phyllis Turner said.

    It’s been a tough winter for many restaurants in the Greater Cincinnati area that have been forced to close their doors amid tight budgets.     Floodwaters are slowly receding after last week's rains. The difference in water levels is becoming clear. After peaking at 60.79 feet, the Ohio River has receded nearly four feet, sitting at 57.25 feet as of 2 a.m. Thursday. While the water is going down, there are still concerns regarding flooding.

    Many communities throughout Indiana are dealing with flooding, including Aurora. According to Mayor Patrick Schwing, the flood impacted upward of 100 families. First responders have been working around the clock to keep residents safe. The all-volunteer Dearborn County Swift Water team conducted numerous rescue missions over the last few days. "We had one vehicle in the water. The driver drove around multiple roads closed and water signs," Lt. Rebecca Minges said.
