The Panthers' eight draft selections were joined by undrafted rookie free agents and a couple of hopefuls trying out for the team. After the first day, Dave Canales was impressed with what he saw.     CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a first round bye, the Charlotte Checkers have not missed a beat on their quest to the Calder Cup. They enter the postseason in the Atlantic Division Semifinal and are one win away from advancing. Checkers began the series on the road in Providence against the Bruins. Charlotte leads the series 2-0 and has outscored the Bruins 7-2 over the first two games.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two Charlotte-area schools, Ranson Middle School and West Charlotte High School, got a visitor on Monday afternoon, making for a sweet surprise. With the help from Bojangles, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young paid visits to speak with students and hand out the new Bo-Berry Cookies.  The campaign through the Smart Cookie Campaign returned for its second year, rewarding students who have been exemplary both in the classroom and on the football field.

    SALISBURY, N.C. — Jalon Walker’s first dream was to “arrive in Hollywood in a limo,” according to his mom LaSheka Walker. “All in all, he just wanted to be a star, it didn’t matter,” Jalon’s father, Curtis Walker, said. “In everything he was doing, he wanted to be the best. Singing in the school play, he wanted the lead role.     CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ahead of the 2025 MLS season, Charlotte FC launched its new secondary kit, paying tribute to the supporters who have been behind the club since its inception. The Fortress Kit was inspired by the traditions and on-field visuals seen at home matches, including the coronation motifs through crown designs. The Adidas kit also dons an alternative crest with CLTFC branding. "We are so lucky to have one of the best fan experiences in the league so we wanted to bring that forward.
