(UNITED STATES) The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) announced that there is a new phone scam spreading across the country affection incarcerated individuals and their families. According to the release, scammers are identifying themselves as FBOP employees in an attempt to take money for community placement services. The bureau states in the release that they do not contact individuals to request personal information or money.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) B&B Runway Cafe, located at Rosecrans Memorial Airport, temporarily closed its doors on April 12 as it prepares to move. The cafe says on Facebook that this was the last day at its original location in the old control tower as it prepares to move into the new control tower next door. Currently, there is no reopening date set. However, they plan to announce it once they move and pass inspections. For more information on B&B Runway Cafe's progress, click here.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The City of St. Joseph has announced that five major intersections will undergo traffic light upgrades in the coming months. The areas receiving an upgrade are Walmart Drive, 22nd Street and Frederick, St. Joseph Avenue/Middleton, St. Joseph Avenue/Grand Avenue, and Noyes/Frederick. The city said this work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. They advise exercising caution in work zones as always.

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) According to church leaders, in the fall of 2023, Clair United Methodist Church began collecting pledges to begin interior remodeling on their church. In an open house hosted on April 12, the church hosted an open house for church and area members to come and see the renovations and learn more about what the church has to offer. The church reportedly hadn't seen anything done to the inside since the 1970s.
