(Iowa) -- There will be an increased law enforcement presence on Iowa road ways this weekend ahead of Cinco de Mayo. The Iowa State Patrol says it will be partnering with other law enforcement agencies throughout this sate this weekend through Monday night. Officers will be looking for impaired drivers. The traffic enforcement project will be in effect statewide.

(Pleasantville, IA) -- The winner of the 2025 Iowa Best Burger Contest is Halftime Bar & Grill in Pleasantville. The Humpback burger won this year's Best Burger in Iowa contest. The Humpback features a half-pound beef patty, ham, pepper jack cheese, bacon, onions, and a special house sauce. It's the fourth year in a row that the winner has come from Central Iowa, with last year's winner being JJ's Bar and Grill in Ankeny.

The overall Midwest economy remained above growth neutral, though is was down to a reading of 53.3 below March's 56.7. Any number above 50 indicates the overall economy is growing, though April's reading indicates that growth is slowing.

Investigators say 45 year-old Marcus Turner tried to make a purchase at a store around 3am Wednesday with bills that had a crystallized substance on them. He was taken into custody, and police later confirmed that the substance was methamphetamine.

The RV@QSP campground was made possible thanks to a $400 thousand dollar Destination Iowa Grant in the summer of 2022. A dedication ceremony for the new campground at Quarry State Park, about half of which includes lakes for boating and fishing, is scheduled for Saturday May 24th, at 2pm.
