Don Webley was jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh. The rapist brother of slain gangster Marc Webley has been jailed for seven years for a sickening sex offence which saw his victim running into the street half naked and screaming for help. Marc, 38, died after allegedly being gunned down outside a pub in Edinburgh ahead of the Bells on Hogmanay 2023. And his big brother Don was caged this morning at the High Court in the city for raping a woman in 2022.

A sex offender guilty of child abuse in Dundee was placed on a community payback order for three years. A judge told Brandon Harrington, 26, at the High Court in Edinburgh she was satisfied that there was an alternative to a custodial disposal in his case. Harrington, of Ward Road, Dundee, was earlier convicted of causing a child to participate in sexual activity on an occasion between May 2011 and June 2013.

Three men who started fires at two addresses in Fife, forcing firefighters to carry out a rescue, were collectively jailed for more than 30 years. Barry Baxter and Angus Guthrie, both 49, and 45-year-old Stuart Young were involved in setting fire to a flat and a house at Rosyth in the early hours of the morning on July 25 2023 at Duffy Place and Queensferry Road.
