The Canadian Football League’s 15th commissioner will be a familiar face when he shows up for his first day of work roughly three weeks from now. Stewart Johnston is a well-known figure in CFL circles and boardrooms, serving since 2010 as president of TSN, the league’s rights holder and long-time television partner. The Canadian Press reported Tuesday that Johnston was top candidate to be the league’s next commissioner and engaged in negotiations for the job.

New Orleans – For all the good things this era of the Kansas City Chiefs has delivered to the National Football League, there was one quality that the league could have done without. Predictability. That’s why the Philadelphia Eagles’ shocking 40-22 victory over the Chiefs in the 59th Super Bowl game is just what the NFL needed. New Orleans – Every Super Bowl week comes with its own distinct feeling, a feeling that often reflects the mood in America or in the National Football League itself. This year that feeling is tension. Kansas City – As a season on its own, 2024 was a remarkable success for the Buffalo Bills. After an off-season in which they purged veterans and ate dead cap money in moves made for the future, many had described Buffalo as being in a “soft rebuild.” So, to get to the AFC Championship Game, to be leading it on the road after three quarters, to be down three with 3:33 to play and the ball on their own 30-yard line? Well, there’s no shame in that.

This whole Cook leverage thing makes no sense. This is not how the Bills do business and Brandon Beane’s comments this week suggested that.
