Queensland researchers have used an Indigenous bush remedy to develop a healing gel that could replace expensive wound dressings and have a "life-changing" impact on chronic wound sufferers. The gel uses lemon myrtle oil and has been tested by University of Southern Queensland researchers. They looked at its effectiveness against bacteria such as golden staph, which can cause serious infections such as blood poisoning and pneumonia.
