Update on Popps Ferry Road extension

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- Of all the road projects going on around South Mississippi, this could be one of the biggest game changers. Biloxi is extending Popps Ferry Road from Pass Road down to Highway 90. The $27 million project will put a new four lane road running west of the Coliseum and coming out at Oakmont Place. The road will include an entrance to Coliseum grounds near the convention center.

Inside the center is a new exhibit titled 'Paper Fools in Wonderland' paying tribute to the 160 th anniversary of Lewis Carroll's 'Alice in Wonderland.'WXXV News 25's Dave Elliott stopped by and spoke to Exhibit Curator Ann Madden. JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV)-We’re about three weeks away from the 2025 Legislative Session coming to an end. There’s been very little talk about expanding Medicaid in Mississippi. It’s been a hot topic of conversation in recent years. State Auditor Shad White has been looking at the state’s program and he told WXXV News his office found fraud and waste in the division of Medicaid. White included that data in a recent report on waste and fraud in the state.

Here on WXXV with a preview is Julia Weaver from the Alliance. The night starts with an alderman candidate open house from 5:30 to 6:30. After a break for refreshments, the night then ends with a mayoral forum from 6:45 to 8. The forum takes place at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Art Center in Ocean Springs.
