Hopkins pulled out close wins against GA the past three seasons on its way to winning the FAA title, but it was Greenwich Academy’s turn to capture the championship this season.

    Greenwich High School’s boys tennis team has added two more dominant wins to its ledger this week, sweeping past FCIAC opponents Stamford High School and Norwalk High School. The Cardinals registered 7-0 victories against both the Black Knights and Bears to run their record to a perfect 11-0. Against Norwalk on May 8, senior Alexander Salib was in his usual top form at the No. 1 singles, recording a 6-0, 6-1 win.

    Greenwich High The Greenwich High School girls tennis team made it a perfect 10, then added win No. 11. The Cardinals raised their record to a perfect 11-0 by sweeping Stamford and Norwalk, rolling to 7-0 victories. Greenwich visited Stamford High School on Wednesday (May 7) and earned another victory against an FCIAC opponent. Senior Izzy Everett got the start at first singles for Greenwich against Stamford and posted a 6-1, 6-0 win against Maria Rivera.

    Sacred Heart Greenwich When Sacred Heart Greenwich’s Varsity A lacrosse team faced Darien in 2023, the Blue Wave pulled out a one-goal win, scoring the game-winning goal with only eight seconds remaining and in 2024, Darien was victorious in a tight, two-goal matchup. However, the third time was, indeed, the charm when the Tigers hosted the Blue Wave at Sheehan Field for another lacrosse showdown on May 6.
