CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A WBTV Investigation is getting answers after a truck driver says he was forced to pay thousands of dollars when his tractor trailer was booted by a tow truck driver who doesn’t appear to have a lot to tow cars to. Truck driver Tavari Crawford said he made a quick pit stop at the 7-Eleven on Statesville Avenue and found out the hard way it might not be the friendliest spot for truckers, even though it’s directly next to a massive yard of trailers and trucks.

CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) - A judge has blocked Cabarrus County’s newest commissioner from taking office after a lawsuit alleged the nomination process and vote were illegal. The temporary restraining order issued Tuesday prevents Cabarrus County and the Board of Commissioners from swearing in Lamarie Austin-Stripling. Austin-Stripling was appointed last week to fill the seat being vacated by Board Chair Chris Measmer, who is filling the North Carolina Senate seat vacated by Paul Newton.

Churches in Columbia have their own unique traditions, providing a church home for people with similar interests to worship; yet, during the Christmas season, they all enjoy celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with amazing decorations. The back entrance of First Nazareth Baptist Church is on the corner of Gervais Street and Millwood Avenue. First Nazareth began life in 1877 when Virgil J. Parker was called to be its first pastor. The church met in a house on Bull near Laurel Street.

During a news conference Monday, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced that every eligible hospital signed onto a plan that could wipe away $4 billion in debt in exchange for increased Medicaid payments. “Hospitals can earn more by forgiving medical debt than trying to collect it.
